Leadmend and Zapier
Leadmend answers the enquiry. Zapier decides where the record of it goes afterwards. The two jobs are separate, and keeping them separate is why this connector is a webhook rather than a list of supported apps — we do not need to know what is on the other end.
What it does
Each captured enquiry is POSTed to your Zapier catch-hook, so you can route it anywhere — a spreadsheet, Slack, your CRM, whatever you build in Zapier.
Setting it up
- 1
Create a catch-hook in Zapier
Start a Zap with Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger and choose Catch Hook. Zapier gives you a URL. That URL is the only thing Leadmend needs, and it is not a secret in the sense a password is — it is an address that accepts a POST.
- 2
Paste it into Integrations
Open Integrations in your dashboard and paste the URL against Zapier. There is nothing to provision on our side and nothing to approve, which is why this one is available immediately rather than on request.
- 3
Build the rest in Zapier
Every captured enquiry is POSTed to that hook as it arrives. What happens next is entirely yours: a row in a spreadsheet, a message in Slack, a contact in a CRM, a task for whoever is on call.
What it does not do
- It is one-way. Leadmend sends enquiries out; nothing in Zapier writes back into Leadmend.
- It fires on a captured enquiry, not on a reply being sent. If you need the reply text, it is on the enquiry record the hook receives.
- Zapier's own plan limits apply to task volume. That is between you and Zapier — we do not meter it.
Questions
- Do I need Zapier to use Leadmend?
- No. Zapier is for getting the record of an enquiry somewhere else. Answering the enquiry happens whether or not anything is connected.
- What is in the payload?
- The captured enquiry: who wrote in, what they said, and what the AI replied. No customer records of yours are read to build it, because Leadmend does not hold any.
Every connector, including the ones not open yet, is listed on the integrations page. What it costs is on pricing.
